Maureen FitzSimons' early achievements in the performing arts (now called Maureen O'Hara), would be considered, at least in the eyes of America, into the category of child prodigy. This was a natural trait for a child born in Ireland, surrounded by gifted parents as well as a loving and supportive family. Maureen was born in Ranelagh which was a suburb in Dublin in Ireland on the 17th of August 1920. Marguerita Lilburn FitzSimons was her mother. She was an accomplished contralto. His father, Charles FitzSimons, managed an enterprise in Dublin and also owned part of the renowned Irish soccer club "The Shamrock Rovers." Maureen FitzSimons was the child of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy, Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons made up this beautiful family. Maureen loved playing rough athletic games as a child and excelled at sports. This passion was combined with an equally natural talent for performing. As evidenced by winning pretty much every Feis award for drama or theatrical performing her country offered. When she turned 14, she was accepted by the Abbey Theater accepted her and let her live her passion for classical theatre and opera singing.
